I build software products, with a focus on applied AI.

Software engineer in Santiago, Chile. I have built and shipped software in startups and scaleups, and I am most interested in small teams where engineers own a problem from idea to production.

Experience

Jan 2023 — Feb 2025

Software Engineer · Reimpact

Second engineer on a B2B SaaS for environmental compliance (Chile's EPR law). I worked on both front end and back end: the platform's migration, dashboards, APIs and integrations, and its automated testing.

Software Engineer · HealthAtom

Software engineering on the core SaaS of a healthtech scaleup (Dentalink · Medilink · Gerty). I worked across the payments portal (backend and frontend), the online-booking app, billing and messaging APIs, new features, redesigns, and refactors, through code review in large teams. Stack: PHP (CodeIgniter), React, SQL.

AI Engineer · MintiiLabs

Applied AI engineering at a small team that automates companies' internal processes with AI. I design, build and ship agents and AI workflows for clients: connecting models (Claude, GPT, Gemini) to business systems through APIs and MCP, RAG, information extraction, classification and structured outputs, and n8n automations deployed on AWS and GCP. I pick models on quality, cost and latency, and join client meetings to understand their processes.

Lawyers lose hours interrogating thousand-page scanned case files, and can't act on an answer they can't verify. Pin answers with a citation to the exact page, source image alongside.

I built the engine and the web app end to end. Local-first: an OCR cascade feeds hybrid retrieval (lexical and semantic), documents stay on the machine, and the product uses no paid APIs. The core is domain-agnostic, so Pin is being adapted as a white-label product for other document-heavy settings: prosecutors' offices, municipalities, legal teams and medical-records archives. The public landing is live; the application itself is not public.

How I work

01Astronomy

Astronomy taught me to measure first, quantify the uncertainty, and let the data overrule me. I bring that to building and evaluating ML systems.

02Teaching

Teaching physics shaped how I communicate: clear design docs, useful code review, and explaining technical decisions to people who don't write code.

03Engineering

Years across PHP, Python and TypeScript taught me that simple, well-tested code is what survives production. I write for whoever maintains it next.

AFK

Family and friends first. Music, always. The outdoors, plants, and eating well.
